Two Whistles

Terms of Service

Last updated October 3, 2026.

These terms are from Two Whistles LLC. They cover twowhistles.com while the full site is being finished, and the text messages members will be able to choose to receive when it opens.

Using this site

The information on Two Whistles is offered as a guide. Schedules change, and a railroad's own website is the word on when its trains run. Check with the railroad before you travel.

SMS Terms

What they are
Two Whistles LLC sends text messages only to members who ask for them. A member chooses which kinds they want: steam running near them, changes to the schedules of engines they are watching, activity in their family passport, and answers to reports they sent us. We also text a one-time code to confirm a new number. News from Two Whistles and offers from railroads, museums and clubs are sent by text only to members who separately agree, in writing, to receive them that way.
How you sign up
A member adds a mobile number in their account settings, confirms it with the code we text to it, and chooses which kinds of message to receive by text. Agreeing to receive texts is never a condition of using the site.
How often
Message frequency varies with the kinds of message you choose and with how often the schedules you follow change.
Cost
Message and data rates may apply.
How to stop
Reply STOP to any message to stop all texts at once. You will get one message confirming it and nothing after. Reply START to begin again.
Help
Reply HELP to any message, or write to conductor@twowhistles.com.
Carriers
Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

How we handle mobile numbers is set out in our privacy notice.

Changes

The full site will have fuller terms. When they replace these, the date at the top will change.
